Is TikTok’s next plan to take over the music industry? Their newest feature makes us think so.

TikTok SoundOn is a platform for music creators that will allow artists to upload their music on TikTok, and distribute their music globally.

SoundOn will provide royalties, and creators will keep 100% of their profits in the first year, then 90% every year after. Users can also attend workshops with industry leaders, including lessons on marketing and growing your fanbase. Additionally, artists’ songs will be marketed to TikTok Creators, who may choose to use them in their next viral videos!

This new program also boasts a special SoundOn+ feature for extraordinarily popular users. Our team thinks that this could be TikTok’s first step into starting their own record label. Could they take over the music world, the same way that Netflix changed television?
